9-Days Argentina Tour: Buenos Aires, El Calafate & Ushuaia
Patagonia Express: Buenos Aires, El Calafate & Ushuaia
9 DAYS - 8 NIGHTS
Patagonia is one of the regions with the most beauties and secrets to be discovered. Large areas not yet populated, ice fields impossible to cross, stories of explorers not yet written, which make Patagonia a land of fascination and legend. It is an excursion in 4×4 along the coast of Lake Argentino. Ideal for the day of arrival or departure, it has an anthropological approach, making a tour at the time about the passing of man in these lands, rediscovering the stories of the first expeditions and daring that ventured into the unknown.
Between the cliffs and overlooking the Andes Mountains, the excursion focuses on the first contacts of those expeditionaries with the natives, and then enter the Tehuelche world.
On the banks of the lake are the caves where thousands of years ago that culture left its marks on the rock and that today induce us to its interpretation. Finally, the excursion culminates in another cave where lunch or dinner is included that will transport us to those remote years.
Day 3 Perito Moreno Glacier with Safari Náutico Boat Trip
Today we dedicate the day to one of the world’s most awe-inspiring natural wonders: the Perito Moreno Glacier. This glacier, classified as an ice field-type, flows down from the Southern Patagonian Icefield—an enormous mass of ice covering around 22,000 square kilometers, making it the third largest in the world after Antarctica and Greenland.
Thanks to rare and favorable local conditions, Perito Moreno is the only glacier on the planet that still advances and undergoes dramatic rupture cycles. The road takes us right to the glacier’s front, where you’ll be just meters away from its towering ice wall. The deep rumbles of falling ice, the thunderous crashes as massive chunks break off into the lake, and the vibrant blues of the ice create an unforgettable, once-in-a-lifetime experience.
Later, we head to Bajo de las Sombras port, where we board a catamaran and navigate across Lago Rico. From the water, you'll enjoy a privileged view of the glacier’s immense face and floating icebergs—an even more striking perspective of this natural wonder.
After this unforgettable day, we return to our accommodation in El Calafate.
