A 5-day tour from Bariloche to Puerto Varas crossing the Andes
1. This is the only crossing through The Andes that allows you to sail across three lakes: Todos los Santos, Frías and Nahuel Huapi. Beginning with Lake Todos los Santos, you'll arrive to Port Frías where you'll say goodbye to Chile and give a big welcome to Argentina. You'll then navigate across Lake Frías at the foot of The Andes Mountains. Once having made the crossing, you'll begin the third sailing trip across Lake Lago Nahuel Huapi. You'll make the connection between each lake and the next by car.
2. You can explore some of the most unspoiled national parks in Chile and Argentina. National parks always add that special something to a journey. Vicente Pérez Rosales National Park and Nahuel Huapi National Park are two of the oldest national parks situated in Chile and Argentina. Wild, unspoiled routes, surrounded by coihues, ulmos, olivillos and myrtle trees await you.
3. Puerto Varas in Chile and Bariloche in Argentina are two of the most beautiful cities located in The Patagonia. Puerto Varas, a city colonized by Germans, is full of German-influenced architecture and gastronomy, surrounded by tall mountains and volcanoes including Tronador, Puntiagudo and Osorno. On the other side of The Andes, Bariloche is a city surrounded by forests, mountains, lakes rivers, waterfalls, steppes and valleys. During your visit you must make time to wander through both cities, visit chocolatiers and artisanal breweries, before planning your onward route.

Welcome to the Lake District!
Upon arrival at Bariloche Airport, a transfer will be waiting to take you to your hotel.
The rest of the day is free for you to explore the city at your own pace.
Lodging in San Carlos de Bariloche - Double or Single Base

Today we will explore the surroundings of Bariloche with a scenic half-day excursion along the famous Circuito Chico. This picturesque route skirts the shores of Lake Nahuel Huapi, offering stunning panoramic views of the lake, forest, and mountains. Along the way, we’ll stop at key landmarks such as Bahía López, Punto Panorámico, and the iconic Hotel Llao Llao.
To wrap up the experience, we’ll visit an artisanal chocolate boutique for a curated tasting session featuring high-quality, Belgian-style chocolates. Bariloche is considered the chocolate capital of Argentina, and this exclusive visit will be the sweetest way to connect with its local culture.
Then we continue to our accommodation.
Lodging in San Carlos de Bariloche - Double or Single Base
Meals: Breakfast, Chocolate Tasting
After breakfast, we’ll head to Puerto Pañuelo, driving along the shores of Lake Nahuel Huapi. On the way, we’ll admire the charming Swiss-style architecture that characterizes the area, with its colorful gardens and flower-filled landscapes leading us all the way to the port.
At approximately 10:00 AM, we’ll begin our first navigation aboard the Gran Victoria, sailing across Lake Nahuel Huapi toward Puerto Blest. During this journey, we’ll enjoy stunning views of lush forests and the majestic Andean scenery.
Upon arrival at Puerto Blest, we’ll continue by bus along the Frías River to Puerto Alegre, where we board the Victoria del Sur to navigate Lake Frías. This short sail offers incredible views of Cerro Tronador, the highest peak in the area.
At Puerto Frías, we’ll complete the necessary border formalities before continuing by bus to Peulla, surrounded by spectacular views of the Andes. From there, we sail once more across Lake Todos los Santos toward Petrohué. If weather conditions allow, we’ll enjoy breathtaking vistas of the Osorno and Puntiagudo volcanoes, as well as Cerro Tronador.
Finally, we travel by road along the shores of Lake Llanquihue toward Puerto Varas, with the Osorno and Calbuco volcanoes dominating the landscape. Upon arrival, we transfer to our hotel in Puerto Varas.

After breakfast, we’ll set off on a new adventure to explore two iconic natural wonders of Southern Chile: an active volcano with a perfectly shaped crater and the stunning Petrohué Waterfalls.
Our journey begins along the southern shores of Lake Llanquihue, where we’ll learn about the region’s agricultural development and the influence of German settlers. Once inside Vicente Pérez Rosales National Park, we’ll visit the famous Petrohué Waterfalls, known for their striking turquoise waters that flow powerfully over volcanic rock.
We’ll then continue to Todos los Santos Lake, a glacier-fed lake with tranquil beaches and breathtaking scenery. From there, we head toward the Osorno Volcano, where we’ll stop in the village of Ensenada for a lunch break (not included).
Afterwards, we ascend to the volcano’s ski center, where—weather permitting—we’ll enjoy panoramic views over the Petrohué River Valley and Lake Llanquihue on our return to Puerto Varas.

After breakfast, we’ll head to Puerto Montt for our final transfer. This marks the end of our services, but hopefully not the end of your adventure in South America.
